5 Habits that will Improve Your Productivity

It’s Elodie, again. Have you been so unproductive and lazy someday? And even you wants to be productivity guru as other students, But really don’t know what to do? Don’t worry. I’m here to help you.

I was idling, and cuddling on my bed as glazing at my phone until I realized I had become absolutely unproductive, a month ago. Yeah, we all endure and pass that difficult times as living in no productivity, no effective result, and no progress life. But that’s just a blip, which means you always have a chance, and you are incredibly capable of make progress in your life, or college life. After a month of experience of making progress, trying to improve me as a productive side. And here’s what I learned,what habits have done huge change in my life.

Exercise

You might be thinking how could running impact my productivity? Even though all people says that exercise is good for brainpower, how could I know without trying? I just started running from little. On the first day,run during only 2 of your favorite song, then 4 songs and so on. Do not try to do much at the first day, just be happy and keep it simple. This is how exercise increases productivity :

  1. Improves confidence.  Start believing yourself more is key to improving other areas of your life. You’re pushing you physically means you can push yourself to your goals and get shit done.
  2. Inspires creativity.  Don’t know how to get out of your comfort zone and start with new ideas and new motivation? Running is the best way to get out of comfort zone, inspire yourself and make brainstorming.
  3. Pump you up. You are not exercising, because you’re too tired or just don’t want to get out of your cozy  bed. But what will pump you up, if it’s not the exercise? Running will change sleeping beauty to motivational, productive girl. 😉 It’ll absolutely lift your energy level than coffee. (sorry, coffee lovers.)

Learn to say “No”

It was the habit that most hard for me. I used to be too kind to people, my friends, even they’re not my best friends, I often helped them to study, to make their project works or just they let me do things they wanted, or they procrastinated. I mean, you can help your friends, just make priorities and know what is significant to you, not to them.

To work out whether your friendships are toxic, ask yourself whether their behavior towards you is “loving, kind and necessary”. Sometimes it is simply a case of setting up a personal boundary to get some distance from a toxic relationship, in other cases, you may have to be bold and just walk away.

Set your boundaries, enjoy a slice of “me” time and I promise you will be more attentive, focused, productive and, without a doubt, a better person to be around.

Create a list

Is there any productivity technique more ubiquitous than the to-do list? Create a list where you prioritize  your 6 main goals for the next day and prioritize them according to importance and time needed to accomplish. Tackle the most important one in the morning.

Sometimes you won’t do the things you planned, however, there are plenty ways to remind them. You can write them on your mirror, or you can use sticky notes and so on. If you plan more than 6 things, you won’t probably get them done. A checklist increases your focus on what you need to do daily and boosts your productivity.

Start small

If you want to write more, don’t start with writing an hour every day. Experiment with 15 minutes 5 times a week and gradually improve the number. We often don’t recognize that the big things consist of small steps to accomplish them. Whether you were given a big assignment, paper or project, divide them into small tasks and it will be easy to get done. According to studies, most of great things people have made as little projects.

Make it smaller, and you are more likely to succeed in everything 😉

Get enough sleep

You often don’t get enough sleep, because of piled assignments, essays, and papers which is necessary and urgent. And you fight with your sleep very hardly.

Getting a plenty of sleep doesn’t just inspire your body with extra energy, impact your beauty and boost your mood – it will also be your whole day’s fuel and help you get shit done. Did you know? Sleep deprivation costs American companies 63.2 billion a year in lost productivity. When you don’t have sufficient sleep during the night, your body will probably won’t likely to let you study. On the other hand, after a long, enough sleep you’ll be chirpy and productive and energetic during the day!Don’t forget that sleeping is as crucial as diet and exercise.
